While brushing up on my internet skills a.k.a trying to find an interesting news topic to blog about, I was able to find a news article regarding Texas building a 95-mile pipeline next year. I want to add that it was quite difficult for me to find a relatively interesting news article that did not involve Trump tweeting "Build the Wall" as a solution to anything involving immigrants and crimes.
This "pipeline is expected to bring an additional 13 million gallons of water per day to San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, and other communities that are part of the coalition by 2023. "
The water pipeline is going to cost more than $225 million. Holy. Cow. It is sad that humans are having to think about parts of the world running out of water in the next few years. Even though this project is a large investment, I hope that it will be useful to society in the future. I also hope that I remember to look into this water pipeline a few years down the road to see if the project came out as planned.

Blog Stage Six- Commentary on a classmates blog
I decided to reply to Michelle's blog regarding Trump rolling back the Affordable Care Act. There is too much that one can type about this topic, but I tried to keep it short and to the point. Her thoughts were concise and she referred to the online article to prove her reasoning.
This is my reply to her blog:
"I think it is fair to say that Michelle and I see eye to eye on the on the topic of Trump vs. birth control.
Being a female, it pains me even more to say that women in 2017 are having to fear their rights being revoked. I don't think it phases Trump, because he is a MALE. Male condoms are not being taken away, so why should politics make it more difficult for women to practice safe sex? Men are not losing anything in this situation and that is why both genders are not on the same side regarding this topic of birth control. Whether a person's insurance covers birth control or not, should not be based on religion. The first amendment defines separation of church and state."

Trump's nasty tweets
It is sad to say that I hear about President Trump's tweets weekly and I don't have a Twitter account.
Daily Trump is typing tweets on social media for the world to see. At first I was angered and appalled by the things Trump has tweeted about ( ban on transgenders in the military, "crooked Hillary Clinton", Barney Frank's protruding nipples, etc) but then I came to the conclusion that this is a news tactic for him...
I have never seen/heard of a leader as big as the president using social media as a way to address the people. In my opinion, I do not think it is the best method in his interest. This is because he does not know when to stop his tantrums. His followers may agree with him, but I know that most people that I have come in contact with do not think he is intelligent- even more so because of his Twitter account.
His account is famous!
His tweets are his way of expressing his OPINIONS, not facts*.
Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. We as the people need to realize that a majority of what Trump is addressing on his internet outlet is irrelevant and we cannot change that. We need to accept the fact that he has a Twitter account and move on. Focus on what Trump is actually doing to the United States not feed into his news tactic.
Better yet, put time and energy into current events that are occurring in 2017 as a result of Trump being President.

Trump won't let the wall idea go
On Saturday, August 26, 2017, an opinion poll was posted onto the New York Times, titled Castillo: A border wall by any means remains Trump's obsession.
Juan Castillo seems to be an intelligent man who continuously keeps up with politics, especially Trump. He has multiple article's that he has wrote before as well as after the one I chose that was created in August of 2017. Sadly, this article is still very much relevant in our news in October...Trump is still advocating to build a wall on the U.S.- Mexico border. I believe that his intended audience is for the whole public (who wishes to stay informed on current news/politics), but especially the population of Texas and people coming to and from Mexico. I say this, because he mentions Texans pushing back on this idea and uses a quote from a Republican, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn of Texas who "seemed to give Trump the benefit of the doubt". I believe that this author is credible, because I have heard/read other non-opinion sources voice the same facts that were relayed in this article. I do have to add that I would have liked to see this author include different sources embedded in his article from other author's other than himself, to back up his evidence even more. He uses percentages, specific amounts of money and large numbers regarding immigrant population from Mexico that I or someone else might not know to be factual unless I had another credible source claiming the same to be true. I agree with the author in saying that Trump's persistence on building this wall and threatening to shut down the government if he doesn't get it- is insane.

"Trump's Scandals, a List" Opinionated Article from The New York Times
Yesterday, on October 5th, David Leonhardt wrote an article under the "Opinion" column for The New York Times. This article is titled "Trump's Scandals, a List".
This opinionated article is very much so a short-to-the-point list and is intended to be read by people who are somewhat aware of President Trump's history within his presidency. I agree with this author, because even though his bullet points are short, he includes links to other trustworthy articles to back up his argument. Leonhardt is trying to convey President Trump's numerous amounts of scandals and wrongdoings among his family but mainly himself. I think that this author is credible, because he has wrote other opinionated article's that are well written and include substantial evidence. This author claims that Trump has a long list of scandals that continues to grow, because of the power that he has now as being the President and also simply due to the fact that he keeps getting away with these situations that should never happen in the first place (" Eric Trump has been giving his father quarterly updates on the financial health of his businesses, despite promises that the president would have no involvement"). I enjoyed reading this article, because the author was not trying to force his opinions down my throat (unlike some of the other opinion columns). I like reading news articles that are somewhat opinionated, but also allow me to make my own judgement on the topic at the end of the day.

NFL Football Player Charged With Murder, Then Commits Suicide-Why?
On Friday, September 22nd, the New York Times published an article titled Is C.T.E. a Defense for Murder...
I personally do not spend my free time watching "swole" men play football, it is too aggressive in my opinion and is not worth the risk of becoming mentally and physically ill. None the less, an article by the New York Times has once more given information to the public about a tragic story regarding a professional football player who was convicted of murder in April of 2017 and while in prison doing his time, he committed suicide. At age 27, Aaron Hernandez was already showing symptoms of the brain disease C.T.E. This young man was not diagnosed with C.T.E. until after his death, meaning that his charge of murder would have been dealt with differently if the court was aware that this disease was severely altering his state of mind at the time. This disease affected Mr. Hernandez so much that it caused him to kill another human being and that is why I think this article is worth reading. So many of these men playing football are falling through the cracks and suffering for the rest of their lives.
